Job Description:
Summary and Key Objectives:------------------------------ Direct
and manage all quality, food safety and regulatory programs and
issues assuring compliance to specifications on incoming
components, in-process conditions and finished product.--
Designated primary SQF Practitioner.--Principal Duties and
ResponsibilitiesQuality and Food Safety:Maintain a food safe
environment.-- Report any food safety or quality related issues to
relative management and customers.Perform all duties necessary to
meet company and regulatory requirements/standards as prioritized
by the plant, HACCP, QCS, Kosher & SQF.Correct food safety and
quality related issues immediately.-- Report issues requiring
design changes, new equipment, or new procedures to the relative
management.-- Do not continue to operate machinery under non-food
safety conditions.Thorough and complete understanding of the
principles of HACCP and food safety, how it applies to your job and
your employees.-- Leads HACCP, Food Defense, & Crisis Management
teams.Adhere to prescribed Good Manufacturing Practices; ensure
your employees are adhering to GMP's.Monitor bottle quality and
finished product quality to ensure customer satisfaction.Identify
problems relating to food safety and the quality of raw materials,
processes, quality systems, or safety systems by reviewing all
quality documentation.Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of
non-conformities relating to food safety and quality of the
product, processes, quality system, or safety systems.Respond
immediately to all food safety and quality issues.-- Notify
relevant management when both quality and finished product issues
have been found.Control further processing or delivery of
non-conforming products in terms of food safety and quality issues
until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been
corrected.Notify relevant staff and management when defective
products need to be placed on hold.Complete all food safety,
quality and SQF training for plant employees.Can locate and
reference documents (forms, work aids, work instructions, etc.)
that are relevant to your job.Create new documents (forms, work
aids, work instructions, etc.) and update existing documents as
needed.Lead root cause analysis and corrective action meeting, as
well as manage the program.Be knowledgeable of our customer
complaints, understand how they impact the facility and know your
role in reducing the goal on an annual basis.--Duties &
ResponsibilitiesServes as the primary contact for all food safety,
quality, and regulatory issues.Develops, implements, and manages
the food safety and quality systems.Develops, maintains, and
ensures compliance of a qualified HACCP program.Coordinates all
internal, 3rd party and regulatory audits.Ensures the effectiveness
of the Master Sanitation Schedule and Pest Management programs for
the facility and any associated food grade storage areas.Analyzes
quality data to measure, assess, and improve product quality
performance.Communicates compliance results to operating groups,
ensures timely feedback and provides technical support to operate
processes at target.Acts as quality liaison with customers for
quality related issues, complaints, and corrective actions.Works
with both internal and external customers to develop/execute
qualification and validation protocols. Collect, summarize, and
publish all related quality data.Develops new product
specifications and inspection plans as per customer
requirements.--Utilizes customer and consumer complaint data to
identify root cause, then communicates and provides support to
implement process/product improvements.Determines the disposition
of all raw materials, packaging and finished product hold
orders.Develops a quality and product safety system that
consistently meets regulatory, customer and 3rd party audit
requirements.Notify Supervision of any repairs or adjustments that
are required.Performs and is acting Primary SQF Practitioner.Update
and maintain monthly trending reports with regard to customer and
consumer complaints, corrective actions, environment results and
foreign material.Update and maintain monthly trending reports with

forms.Assist with training Team Members on Allergen and all
Preserved Identity of Foods on the production floor and the use of
new SOP's and forms.Assist with root cause investigations,
Corrective Action/Preventive Action, and related documentation.Run
the Approved Vendor Program for all receiving and shipping
functions as it relates to food quality and safety of raw materials
and packaging materials.Collect all documents and maintain all data
for corrective actions, specifications, 3rd Party Audits, HACCP,
and Letters of Guarantees.Maintain hazard analysis of ingredients
and add new ingredients requested by R&D.Run the Contract
Service Provider ProgramAssist with special research projects as it
relates to food safety and food quality.Perform all duties
necessary to meet SQF, the facility, and/ or Government
requirements and standards as prioritized by the plant.Inform
Management of ANY Food Safety or Quality issues or of any
processes, which become noncompliant with specified
requirements.Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence
of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the
product, processes, quality system, or safety system.Identify and
record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the
ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system.Validate
any Food Safety or Quality changes.Controls further processing or
delivery of nonconforming products in terms of Food Safety and
Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has
been corrected.In the absence of an immediate supervisor, will
assume necessary operational and administrative duties.Provide
leadership, direction and performance feedback for all direct
reports including employee conferences, counseling session,
disciplinary actions, and annual performance reviews.Develops and
revise product specifications as per customer requirementsSchedules
all lab personnel.Safety:Maintain a "safety first" attitudeAdhere
to all relevant safety policies and guidelinesKnow the primary and
secondary egress routes in the event of an emergency evacuationWork
to prevent injuries to yourself and those around youEstablish and
maintain good housekeepingWear required PPE and comply with all GMP

areaComplete all new employee safety training as assignedComplete
all annual safety training as requiredQualifications
Required:Education: Minimum of a BS degree in food science,
business, or related field.Experience:-- A minimum of 5 years in
Quality Management.--Experience of federal/state food safety
regulations.--Strong oral and written communication skills,Strong
interpersonal skills and superior organizational abilities.Ability
to take initiative, to maintain confidentiality, to meet deadlines,
and to work in a team environment.--Microsoft Office--HACCP
CertificationPossess a hands-on management stylePhysical
Demands:Requires standing and walking for extended periods of
timeRequires frequent squatting, bending, stooping, sitting and
stretchingRequires occasional lifting of up to 15 lbs.Requires
normal range of hearing and vision to record, prepare and
