Job Description:
(8681)We are currently looking for a Full Time Clinical
Applications Director to join our Medical Information team located
at the EPIC South. Summary:
The Clinical Applications Director directly manages the Inpatient
Applications Manager, Ambulatory Applications Manager, Ancillary
Applications Manager, Pharmacy Applications Manager, and Training
Manager. They are responsible for implementing, optimizing, and
supporting the Department of Health's Epic Inpatient, Ambulatory,
Pharmacy, and Ancillary applications. The Clinical Applications
Director leads and champions the efforts to implement, adopt, and
validate the clinical-related components of the Epic EHR. They
ensure system functionality is designed and delivered to support
clinical, business, and information needs. The Clinical
Applications Director engages key clinical and operational
stakeholders to align Information Technology resources to support
the organization's goals and objectives. They partner with
clinical, revenue cycle, and operational support staff to develop,
implement, and maintain software solutions to support optimal care
delivery and healthcare operations. They provide information
technology operational leadership and support for clinical
functions.
Responsibilities: Manages multiple Epic environments and ensuring
that they are maintained Collaborates to achieve technology
operations of a state-wide technology network, including electronic
health records, population health, healthcare analytics, and
business intelligence systems to advance the goals Oversees the
procurement process for information technology vendors, managed
service providers, and equipment and provides procurement
recommendations Implements short-, medium, and long-range goals for
the department based on the goal of the Epic Applications Officer
Collaborates to develop a strategy for implementing regular
upgrades and maintenance of Epic systems Participate in regional
and national Epic User Groups to share best practices and
collaborate on new and enhanced products Serve as a member of the
leadership team, providing input on overall strategic direction of
the institution and serves on various committees In a timely
manner, assists in resolving customer and employee complaints not
resolvable by subordinates by listening, investigating and
answering questions Completes all training and development
requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities
Ensures employees and resources complete assigned training and
development Facilitates the build and maintenance of metrics,
scorecards, dashboards, reports and custom analytic tools All other
duties as assigned
Competencies: Essential: Follow instructions, both written and oral
Adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements Honesty,
truthfulness, reliability, accountability Read, understand and
apply regulations and policies Understanding of health care
industry service delivery processes, preferably in a multi-facility
health system Knowledge of Epic's Inpatient Clinical, Ambulatory,
and Ancillary Applications Knowledge of Epic's training
requirements for Epic analysts and end-users Understand the
business needs and workflow of the multiple operations of the
hospital, ambulatory, ancillary, revenue cycle, and technical
services to deliver Epic Relates problems and translates
understandable solutions Communicates verbally with team,
departments, guests and management
Skills: Essential: Intermediate skill using Microsoft Office
products
Experience: Essential: 7 years directly related management
experience A minimum of 2 years of project management
experience
Education: Essential: Masters Degree in directly related field
Essential: Informatics, Computer Science, Information Systems,
Business Computer Systems, Business Administration, or another
related field is required
Credentials: Essential: Pass general background check Standard
Driver's License Completion of the Sphinx Assessment Epic module
certification as assignedNonessential: Cert Associate in Healthcare
Information and Mgmt Systems Certified Prof Digital Health
Transformation Strategy Certified Prof Healthcare Information
Management Systems Project Management ProfessionalEssential: Must
hold one or more Epic certifications is required within the first
