We are committed to maintaining a safe, diverse, and welcoming workplace for all.SUMMARY:The R&D Chef will be responsible for supporting the company s culinary efforts, fostering strong relationships with customers and cross-functional teams. This role will report directly to VP of Customer of Experience.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REPONSIBILITIES:Culinary Experimentation: Conduct research and experimentation with various ingredients, flavors, textures, and cooking methods to create new conceptual ideas. This involves a deep understanding of culinary principles and techniques.Menu Development: Work with current and potential foodservice customers to design menus that are operationally sensitive and that showcase innovative and appealing dishes.Product Development: Collaborate with the research and development team and other team members to translate culinary concepts into commercially viable products that meet customer preferences.Customer Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers by understanding their needs and ensuring their satisfaction throughout the innovation process.Sales Support: Provide comprehensive support to the sales team, including attending trade shows, customer conferences and working innovation sessions.Taste Testing and Evaluation: Ensure that the food products developed meet the desired quality standards in terms of taste, appearance, texture, and consistency.Market Trends and Research: Stay updated on food industry trends, consumer preferences, and emerging ingredients or culinary techniques that could be incorporated into product development.Communication: Facilitate clear and effective communication between internal departments, such as Sales, FSQA, R&D, and Operations, to ensure a seamless customer experience, both internal and external.Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues or concerns raised by customers, ensuring a high level of customer experience satisfaction.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Degree in Culinary Arts, or a related field is preferred.Culinary Expertise: In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques, flavor profiles, and cooking methods.Creativity: Ability to think creatively and develop unique and appealing food concepts.Food Science Knowledge: Understanding of food chemistry, nutritional requirements, and the impact of various ingredients on food productsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in all aspects of work.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently.Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing situations.A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experience.COMPANY BENEFITS INCLUDE:Medical / Dental / VisionLifeSTD/LTDPaid vacationHolidays401(k)WORK ENVIRONMENT:Manufacturing facility or customers test kitchen, typical office setting.
