Job Description:
Direct Hire opportunity for Lead Controls Technician located in
Farmers Branch, TX The Lead Controls Technician will oversee the
installation, testing, and commissioning of Building Management
Systems (BMS) on construction projects. As a Lead Controls
Technician , you will: Coordinate/supervise installation
sub-contractors schedule and scope of work to ensure successful
completion. Develop and execute detailed commissioning plans,
including functional testing, sequence of operations,
point-to-point verification, and system calibration for BMS
systems. Lead on-site commissioning activities, including wiring,
termination, point-to-point verification, and system integration
with other building systems (HVAC, lighting, security). Interpret
blueprints and other technical documents and explain them to
on-site Controls Technicians. Provide day-to-day technical coaching
and support to on-site Controls Technicians, assigning tasks,
providing technical guidance, and ensuring efficient project
execution. Collaborate with project managers, engineers,
architects, and customers to address concerns, clarify
requirements, and facilitate smooth project completion. Identify
and resolve technical issues with BMS systems, including hardware
malfunctions, software errors, and communication problems. Prepare
comprehensive commissioning reports, including test results,
deviations, corrective actions, and system documentation for
handover. Provide technical support and basic training to
customers. Review & submit QA/QC documents to Project Manager for
final review. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and
industry standards during all operations. This is a full-time,
Direct Hire opportunity. You will need the following to succeed in
this role: 3 years' experience in installing, configuring, and
commissioning BMS systems. In-depth knowledge of BMS protocols,
hardware, software, and programming languages to troubleshoot
complex system issues and coach more junior team members.
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team of technicians,
delegate tasks effectively, and manage project timelines. Excellent
written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact
with project managers, clients, engineers, and other stakeholders
Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset. Ability to thrive
in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Pay rate: $40 - $44/hr.
