Job Description:
Seeking an experienced Servo Motion Control Engineer to develop
and support high-performance motion systems used in precision
positioning platforms. This role will focus on the full design
lifecycle—concept through validation—of electro-mechanical control
systems used in ruggedized mobile and fixed installations. The
position involves the development and integration of dynamic servo
drive systems tailored to demanding real-time control environments.
The selected candidate will apply sound engineering practices
across multiple domains: control system architecture, algorithm
development, system integration, hardware-in-the-loop validation,
and field performance assessment. This position is based in our
North Dallas Suburbs office with a hybrid work option. Key
Responsibilities Design, develop, and troubleshoot advanced motion
control systems for complex electromechanical platforms. Implement
and tune analog and digital control loops, including S-domain and
Z-domain controllers. Support hardware and software integration
both in lab and operational settings. Develop and execute component
and system-level tests, including fixture design, data acquisition,
and analysis. Characterize and specify performance for motion
components including motors, gear assemblies, and structural
elements. Define technical requirements for motion subsystems and
work with suppliers to source or customize solutions. Maintain
detailed documentation: test reports, theoretical analyses, design
schematics, operational concepts, and engineering change records.
Support manufacturing and field service teams with detailed
procedures, troubleshooting guides, and technical presentations.
Qualifications & Skills Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in
Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering (or a related
discipline). 3–5 years of hands-on experience with servo system
design and tuning. Strong background with feedback devices:
encoders, resolvers, gyros, accelerometers, and similar. Practical
knowledge of various motor types: brushless DC, AC induction,
steppers, and brushed DC. Proficient in PID and general closed-loop
control theory; experience in both frequency and time-domain
analysis. Familiar with simulation tools such as MATLAB or
equivalent for control system modeling. Comfortable working with
both electrical and mechanical aspects of motion systems.
Experience with robust product development and field testing in
challenging environments. Preferred Prior experience in motion
control applications involving large-scale mechanical assemblies.
Preferred Familiarity with mobile or fixed deployment systems used
in communications, automation, or surveillance is a plus.
