Through personalized, professional service, we build lasting relationships and consistently deliver outstanding resultsTHIS ROLE WILL BE LOCATED IN THE WASHINGTON, DC AREA.The Business Development Senior Director candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the long term success of the Show and Events Services department of INSPIRE. This role is responsible for securing new multi-year agreements from the Washington, DC based National Associations and Professional Societies for event production services.Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities for The Business Development Senior Director

  • Develop Prospective Clients
    • Generate leads, pursue opportunities, and win new Show and Event Services business, e.g., annual conferences and large meetings, with a focus on but not limited to events scheduled to take place in convention centers located within the United States.
    • Build rapport with prospects to establish a personal relationship.
    • Develop multiple contacts within the target accounts.
    • Build and maintain accurate data about the target account and potential events in Salesforce.com.
    • Work within the team environment for best practice sharing and collaboration within the business development department.
    • Liaise with relevant staff in proposal development, focusing on the "why INSPIRE" features and benefits.
    • Conduct deep discovery with target accounts to qualify their potential and record the findings in Salesforce
    • Lead deep discovery meetings with prospects and key team members to further qualify the event beyond what is on any Requests for Proposals received.
    • Foster Industry Presence in Target Market
      • Travel locally and nationally to meet prospects.
      • Become active with industry associations by attending networking and national events.
      • Support the VP of Business Development in all mattersSkills/Qualifications and The Business Development Senior Director
        • Self-motivation, seeking to participate in the support of lead generation.
        • Professional hunger to seek and win new business and outperform competitors in the market
        • Agility to function under flexible working conditions.
        • Perseverance to face and overcome challenges experienced in the course of work.
        • Strong verbal and written proficiency.
        • Ability to use online resources for research and lead generation
        • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, ability to learn other digital tools as required.
        • Strict adherence and a keen understanding of the importance of confidentiality in our industry
        • Ability to maintain the utmost professionalism while representing the company in the market.
        • Strong attention to detail.Education and Experience:
          • Degree in an applicable field or similar.
          • At least 3-5 years of work experience in lead generation authority or research.
