It's our passion.Primary PurposeResponsible for transporting patients, assisting with procedures, processing instruments, and assisting with supply chain and clerical duties, in the ongoing support of the Department. -Experience---Must have six (6) months previous experience in a "procedure" area or in general patient care. -Certification/Registration/Licensure---Must have CPR certification or be able to pass two-man CPR course within 90 days of employment from one of the following:-American Heart Association-American Red Cross Rescuer-Military Training Network -Skills or Special Abilities---Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of equipment in order to monitor its general working condition.---Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, visitors and hospital staff.---Must be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors.---Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skill in meeting age related and handicapped patients' needs. -Responsibilities1.Performs all job functions with the primary goal of providing excellent service to all internal and external customers.2.Prepares procedure rooms, including pre-procedure setup and post procedure cleaning and decontamination. Conducts proper testing prior to patient use to ensure all equipment is operational.3.Maintains endoscopes per hospital standard, including leak testing, initial cleaning, disinfecting and processing. Handles clean and dirty scopes according to protocol, maintaining infection control standards. Prepares dirty reusable equipment for sterilization/disinfection including initial cleaning and packaging.4.Ensures proper operation of scope processing machines. Performs preventive maintenance, testing and documentation per manufacturer specifications. Notifies supervisor of maintenance issues requiring higher levels of intervention.5.Maintains inventory control functions for supplies and equipment. Ensures rooms are properly stocked according to established par levels, maintains sufficient supplies/materials according to caseload and orders replacement supplies. Enters unit charges into computer system. Notifies supervisor of supply shortages in a timely manner.6.Demonstrates effectively and timely communications of pertinent information relative to patient throughput and case stats.7.Assists physician during procedure as needed to include: patient positioning, assistance with equipment and collection of specimens. -Job Accountabilities

• Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction. Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements, and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the department and Parkland.
• Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, actively participating in professional organizations, and/or maintaining certification or licensure. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.
• Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines that impact the area. Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and private health plans.
